Does ANet "tap" whispers and private messages to verify the legitimacy of someone being named to RAoK? XD

Based on extrapolatory data, I would say, yes. But, only if you believe in Santa.
You better watch out, you better not cry.
Better not pout, I'm telling you why:
Santa Claus is coming to town!
He's making a list, and checking it twice;
He's gonna find out who's naughty and nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town!
He knows when you are sleeping,
He knows when you're awake,
He knows if you've been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake!
Oh! You better watch out, you better not cry.
Better not pout, I'm telling you why:
Santa Claus is coming to town!

Yes, absolutely, I totally believe that doing good deeds should be done because it makes you feel good, not because you might get mentioned in a public way. I've always tried to help new players and such and have never had my name in The Scribe. Do I care? No, because it feels good just knowing that I helped someone.
I believe that most of the players, guilds and alliances did what they did in order to help people. But, since we do have a recognization system in place, I think it would've been appropriate to mention these folks.

If they did, I would've been in there a long time ago. My help is usually not all chat, where it can get lost in all the spam, it's in pm's where I know the person asking, will see it. I also think that if anet could "tap" in to pm's, there would be a lot more people banned for ebaying and such.
Kuldebar.......good one!

Yeah, I agree. I am sure ANet has the technical capabilities to monitor PM's but established general policy in online gaming usually excludes such monitoring on privacy concerns. I am sure they "wire-tap" when/if they feel the need, but not as a routine fishing expedition.
